The Village of Addison
Once you are on Addison’s web site, go to "Village Services" section on the left. Then click on "Homeowners Guide". There is much useful information from branch & Christmas tree pickup to phone numbers for the Village of Addison as well as telephone, electricity, cable TV, etc. to garage sale permits. We recommend purchasing recycling bins from the garbage pick-up company, Browning-Ferris Industries, for $5 per bin. You will need at least two. This eliminates the need for recycling bag purchases. Call (708) 345-7050 for details. You mail them a check and they will drop off the bins to your home within a week.
Your other option is to get Village of Addison recycling bags, which may be purchased from local retailers including: Dominick’s, 545 W. Lake St.; Jewel/Osco, 140 W. Lake St.; Len’s Ace Hardware, 30 W. Lake St.; and Sears Hardware, 118 W. Lake St. Residents should place paper and non-paper materials in separate recycling bags. Both bags may be placed at curbside for weekly pickup. Recycling bags are accepted along with regular refuse on normal garbage days; they should not exceed 80 pounds.
You will need a village sticker on each vehicle. Cars are $15 per year. Go to the brand-new village hall or call the Collection Office at 630-543-4100, ext. 7565.
Watering of lawns is permitted on odd numbered days for odd numbered addresses and on even numbered days for even numbered addresses at any time of day. There are no restrictions for the sprinkling of flowers, washing of cars, filling pools or any other water use.
It is hard being new in a community.
